About the Role
You will provide planning, execution, and analysis support for NMCS assessments and exercises across the NC3 portfolio at the Joint Staff J3 N2C3 Division. You’ll evaluate end-to-end command and control capabilities across the full spectrum of crisis operations, develop assessment requirements and objectives, analyze results to identify system trends and risks, and provide senior leadership with actionable feedback to improve operational readiness.
What You’ll Do
Plan, execute, and analyze NMCS assessments and exercises across the NC3 portfolio
Evaluate end-to-end C2 capabilities across the full spectrum of crisis operations leading to conferences
Develop assessment and exercise requirements, objectives, schedules, and reporting formats
Analyze results to identify system trends, risks, and deficiencies
Assign and track corrective actions; conduct trend analysis for enterprise operational risk assessments
Provide senior leadership with actionable feedback and recommendations
Support national-level decision-makers, the Joint Staff, and Combatant Commands
Participate in NC3 Assessment Working Groups and readiness reporting forums
Support preparation of Flag Officer/General Officer principals for senior forums
Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance with NC2-ESI eligibility (must be current at time of application)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in assessments, exercises, operations, or analysis supporting complex nuclear or command and control systems
U.S. Citizenship
Direct experience with NMCS or NC3 operational assessments
Knowledge of CJCSI 3264.01 (NC3 Operational Assessment Programs)
Experience planning and executing DoD exercises at the strategic level
Familiarity with NC2, nuclear enterprise policies, and CJCS Instructions governing nuclear operations
Experience with risk register management and trend analysis
Prior Joint Staff or Combatant Command support
Work Environment
100% On-Site at the Pentagon, Room MA924, Washington, DC. Classified NMCC environment. Core hours: 0800–1700, Monday–Friday. Travel required: CONUS and OCONUS to CCMDs and assessment sites (Raven Rock, STRATCOM, etc.).
