Senior BI Analyst / Delivery Lead (SQL + Looker)
Team: Data & Analytics (D&A) Type: 100% Remote, 6-month+ Contract with long term potential

We are seeking a senior-level data analyst or BI engineer who can lead the end-to-end delivery of semantic data models using SQL and business intelligence tooling. This role focuses on translating business needs into scalable, reusable data solutions that empower self-service analytics across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a business-oriented mindset to drive efficiency and insight generation within the Data & Analytics team.
Key Responsibilities
Translate ambiguous business questions into clear SQL-based data model
Identify gaps in data availability and guide data engineering needs accordingly.
Build and refine semantic data models in a BI tool (ideally Looker).
Collaborate with data engineering to define, but not execute, DBT model requirements.
Ensure efficient model design (e.g., minimize unnecessary DBT models).
Guide and enable junior analysts by setting up the foundational layers.
Partner with internal stakeholders to understand logic, design data flows, and deliver insights.
Support continued expansion of Companies' core data model strategy across departments.
Must-Have Skills
Advanced SQL (data modeling, transformation logic, query optimization)
Strong understanding of semantic modeling concepts and how BI tools interface with data models
Experience delivering end-to-end BI solutions (from data model to dashboard)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into data requirements
Comfort working in a cloud-based data ecosystem (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)Strongly Preferred
Hands-on experience with Looker + LookML, particularly building and extending explores and semantic models (Note: Candidates with deep Tableau or Power BI experience and strong semantic modeling acumen may be considered if they can demonstrate readiness to ramp on LookML.)
Familiarity with DBT and its role in transformation pipelines (Note: This role defines modeling requirements but does not author DBT code.)
